Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Gto. June 17, 2024.- Emotions and ingenuity overflowed in the Remote Control Mini Sumo Robotics Tournament, organized by the Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato (SEG), in the Regional Delegation I of Este, an event that brought together the best young talents of Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel de Allende. and San Diego de la Unión, was a spectacle of creativity and technological skills that left an impression on all participants.
With the enthusiastic participation of eight high schools from the northern region, gathered at the facilities of the University of Technology of the North of Guanajuato (UTNG), the tournament succeeded in strengthening the robotics skills of the students and providing them with a platform to showcase their creativity, ingenuity and technical abilities in a competitive and collaborative environment.
At the event, regional and municipal education authorities emphasized the importance of this cooperation for the educational and technological development of the region, as well as how events such as the Remote Control Minisumo Robotics Tournament, in addition to inspiring young people, also promote hands-on learning to continue discovering the fascinating of the world of technology and innovation.
Young students built and controlled robots using technological devices such as mobile phones, tablets, computers or wireless controls. In the battle area known as the Dojo, the robots battled furiously to knock their opponent out of the battle zone in a series of thrilling encounters.
Each team was composed of first- and second-year high school students belonging to educational centers that have robotic equipment provided by Regional Delegation I. In each confrontation, the teams demonstrated their technical skills and team spirit, supported by their coaches, live cheering, distinctive mascots and technological logos that represented their identity.
The schools that participated in the tournament were: Arq Carlos Obregón Santacilia from San Diego de la Unión; Telesecundaria 547 of Corralejo de Arriba, Telesecundaria 511, General Bicentenario High School, General Fuego Nuevo High School, Lic Leobino Zavala High School and Technical High School 42, all in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.
As well as the General High School of Cuna de la Independencia Nacional, Colegio Independencia, Técnica 49 in San José de Lagunillas and Técnica 4 in the municipality of Dolores Hidalgo.
The battles were intense and full of adrenaline, with each team doing their best to dominate the Dojo. Each of the confrontations was a display of strategy and skill, with the robots moving nimbly around the combat area and trying to push their opponents out of the ring; Teamwork and quick decision-making undoubtedly played a vital role in the performance of the robots.
The creativity in designing the robots, the ingenuity in programming their movements and the technical skill in manipulating the controls were the center of attention and a source of admiration for all present. The students demonstrated an impressive level of dedication and preparation, surprising the audience with their innovative technical solutions and ingenious tactics.
At the end of the event, three teams stood out above the others and deservedly earned passes to the State Robotics Tournament for the elementary education category.
Proudly representing their schools, these winning teams were students from Colegio Independencia de Dolores Hidalgo; talented young people from Arq Carlos Obregón Santacilia High School in San Diego de la Unión and dedicated students from Bicentenario High School in San Miguel de Allende. These teams demonstrated not only excellent strategy and technical skills, but also a spirit of cooperation and perseverance that inspired everyone present.
SEG expresses its pride and satisfaction at the success of participating in the tournament, an event that not only promotes technological education but also provides a platform for students to learn, grow and be recognized for their talents. This exciting tournament will be held in the seven regional delegations of the Department of Education of Guanajuato and will provide an opportunity for more students to participate and show their talent in the field of robotics.
