The governor of the state of Zulia, Manuel Rosales Guerrero, inaugurated this Saturday at the Palace of Events the Ka’i Cup 2024, a robotics and artificial intelligence event that brings together students from public and private schools, where representatives of Team Venezuela will be selected for the FIRST Global Challenge Robotics World Cup , which will be held in Greece.

Governor Zulia said that on the stage of the Ka’i Cup, you can not only see the machines and the circuits, but you can see the reflection of the effort, dedication and passion of each of the participants who worked tirelessly to achieve this day. . “You, the 348 young protagonists of this new edition of the Ka’i Cup. It shines like our Zulian sky. They are the hope and future of our country.”

Rosales recalled that Zulia is the only state in Venezuela that has declared Robotics Day: December 2, 2022.
“I know how eager they are to compete with every robot they’ve designed and built through hard work, trial and error, learning and improvement. Behind every movement, every function is a team of brilliant minds. “You, dear students, who put your knowledge, creativity and heart into every detail,” he said.
Growth and expansion
The regional leader highlighted the growth of the Ka’i Cup, both quantitatively and in its impact on people. “There is no doubt that the World Cup, which it reached in Singapore in front of 192 countries, caused what I classified in Zulia as the greatest social phenomenon of this century.”
The participation of 26 teams from state and private schools was outstanding. “It’s the best example of what I’m saying. You have come to win a place in the selection that will represent the Venezuelan team at the World Cup, which will be held in Athens between September 26 and 29, 2024. This honor will go to a group of competitors who must demonstrate a range of skills in robotics, programming, mechanics and electronics, but not only, must combine strengths for teamwork, leadership and human values coupled with a desire to improve.

Governor Zulie raised the idea that robotics will achieve sports status in several disciplines. “We will study and work on this possibility. I know what we Zulians are capable of.
