Ana Paredes Garciapre-doctoral researcher in the group of Dr. Mercedes Ricote (CNIC), received first prize from the Lilly Foundation for Best Doctoral Thesis in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, for his thesis: “Understanding the role of retinoid X receptors in cardiac homeostasis: from transcription to physiology”, performed at the Nuclear Receptor Signaling Laboratory of the Carlos III National Cardiovascular Research Center (CNIC) Foundation in Madrid.
The jury, formed by the SEBBM Admissions Committee, awarded the first prize and two second prizes in the IV. issue of the Best Doctoral Dissertation Award in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology sponsored by the Lilly Foundation in recognition of work that initiates a research career.
Moose two second prizes were for Elena Moreno Jimenez for the diploma thesis “The process of neurogenesis of the adult hippocampus in the human species. Alteration of integration of new granule neurons in pathological conditions” carried out at the Center of Molecular Biology “Severo Ochoa” (CSIC-UAM) in Madrid and for María Crespo Ruiz-Cabello for the thesis “The role of the immune system in the pathophysiology of the liver”, performed at the Carlos III National Cardiovascular Research Center (CNIC), Madrid.
The awards ceremony will take place on 6 September 2024 from 12:40 to 13:15 at the Gaviota Auditorium of the Congress Palace A Coruña, Palexco, as part of the 46th SEBBM Congress.
