The first molecular biology laboratory was inaugurated at the Chocó department, represents an important precedent in the field of higher education and scientific research. This progress is part of a series of significant efforts by the Technological University of Chocó (UTCH) to improve the quality of education and expand academic coverage in the region.
UTCH has undergone a significant transformation as the department’s higher education coverage rate has increased by 34%an achievement which is attributed to the various events and programs implemented by the university.
We focused on strengthening the academic and research infrastructure of UTCH, which allowed us to stand out with 33 research groups recognized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and to be home to the only renewable energy research center certified in Colombia. Pacific

Creation of the first molecular biology laboratory in Chocó in collaboration with the Chocó government and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, It represents a qualitative leap in the research and technological capacity of the region. This laboratory will not only enhance the academic preparation of UTCH students, but will also support research projects with a direct impact on the well-being of the Chocó community.

“Our commitment is not only to students, but also to the entire educational community and, of course, to the department. It is not only about reaching a consensus, but also about finding improvements in order to continue to promote the university as one of the most important centers of thought in the country and, of course, in Chocó,” concluded Rector Mosquera.
